Being an evangelist for anything generative AI…well…generated, some call me out for being „too optimistic“ or biased when I talk about the tech. But I won’t become tired to also and specifically talk about the tech’s downsides.
As with „Sharenting,“ this problem is not due to AI but has been a problem on the Web for more than a decade. That being said, using AI will accelerate both the benefits and misuse of personal data alike.
I know of folks posting their small kids playing in a pool on YouTube, holding infants into the camera, naked, on Facebook, and so much more. Each time I told them that this might not be a good idea, they were offended. I get it, everyone craves social proof of their accomplishments, call me guilty.
But what I do not get is why you would use your kids to satisfy that urge.
Or to say it with a variation of Pink Floyd:
Hey, parents. Leave your kids alone!
