The schedule dictates. 7:03 a.m. Alarm. Standard coffee, black, no sugar. System normal.Routine is a song about the comfort of the cage: a life with no jagged edges, no chaos, no surprises. The video asks what that life would look like if an AI ran it at 100 % efficiency, and what the people living in it would still be.Its answer: pictograms. Every person is the same signage figure in a bowler hat. The whole day stands as tiny dioramas on the face of a giant alarm clock, and the camera travels once around it, from 7:03 a.m. into the night. The world is grey. Only what the system removes is red: a flower in a crack, a stapler, a balloon, a lamp that blinks out of sync. In the corner, the system keeps count: day, time, efficiency. It reaches 100.000 %. What remains is a small red light. Standby.
