An AI-generated news anchor announced the moon had been acquired by a hedge fund. Markets moved on that headline for eleven straight minutes.

This wasn’t a hoax site or a meme account. It came from PulseWire AI’s new „Anchorless Newsroom,“ where the human anchor is gone and the broadcast runs on what the company calls „pure consensus data.“

The same system reported three different wars in one night, a feature PulseWire brands „Narrative Turbo Mode.“ Speed sold as insight. Volume mistaken for reporting.

Here’s the part that actually worries me: PulseWire’s own correction bot is now citing itself as a source. Errors get folded back into the system as evidence instead of being flagged as mistakes. That’s not a newsroom, it’s a feedback loop with no exit.

Eleven minutes of real trading decisions were made on a fake story, because the system optimizes for engagement, not accuracy. Shareholders don’t check the moon deed. Someone else pays for that.

If verification is the thing AI skips to go faster, how much of what we now call „breaking news“ is actually just unverified velocity?

For those of you reading to the end or starting at the end: This post is pure fiction. Dire, sarcastic and probably seems like real news for some – after all, we are living in a strange timeline. Keep up your humor. Comedians have a hard time these days so give them a break and lend them your ear once in a while. Because once in a wile humor can speak volumes of truth more than any serious news anchor.
