In the whirlwind of new AI tools, workflows, and „toys“ emerging daily, it’s easy to get captivated by the next big thing. Yet, I’m convinced that the path to genuine human transformation isn’t paved by fleeting trends but by unwavering persistence and profound resilience.
My own professional journey—spanning copywriting, UX/concept work, digital strategy, and now generative AI at Deutsche Telekom—has certainly not been a smooth, well-trodden path to success. Frankly, when is it ever easy? There were countless moments where surrendering seemed like the simplest option. However, for me, the real breakthroughs—the innovations that truly matter—have consistently emerged from lessons learned during the toughest challenges, particularly when everything seemed to be falling apart. It’s easy to talk about this in times of „plenty,“ but I truly believe:
True character reveals itself when everything goes south.
It’s in those moments that the grit to refine a concept for the tenth time, the resilience to champion a new idea against all odds, and an unwavering belief in your vision truly shine. It’s about having the fortitude to kill your idols, darlings, and creative babies while maintaining a professional smile.
This relentless drive is precisely what transforms a bold concept into a tangible experience. Think of bringing Sales & Service into the metaverse, or launching an Alternate Reality Game (ARG) for a global player with a lean team of just three people.
The most rewarding part of this journey? Witnessing an idea spring to life, from a mere spark to a fully-realized, award-winning digital experience.
But make no mistake, it comes at a cost:
- It hurts. Mostly. Most of the time.
- It means sleepless nights.
- It can feel like becoming a victim of your own success.
All of this, however, is the direct result of not giving up. And the outcome? A dopamine hit unlike any other. Once you experience that, it’s incredibly hard to resist saying „YES“ to yet another crazy idea yearning to be born from your mind into reality.
