Netflix, Fortnite: A New Paradigm

Reading about Netflix calling Fortnite its largest competitor, I started pondering the real implications of this statement.

I am willing to bet on gameful design, which enables playful experiences truly catered to the individual.

Combine this approach with article-mentioned technologies supporting new ways of storytelling and immersion – yes, I’m thinking of VR and AR here – and you have yourself a new paradigm of customer engagement.

This new paradigm is far away from the ‚ad‘-driven, customer-luring, attention-span-retargeting booby traps of today.
