Remember back in March when China released their admittedly poor version of ChatGPT called „Ernie“? Press and experts were at least disappointed, if not outright amused.
Do you also remember that I stated that we shouldn’t laugh too loud? Not only is China famous for its immense speed in iteration, but AI in general has a tendency to iterate much faster than anything we’ve come across before.
Seems like I wasn’t far off. Of course, quantity is not equal to quality, so it remains to test, trial, and compare these models with the competition.
But still: reading this, call me impressed!
