Local AI: Baudrillard Conversation

This is a virtual Jean Baudrillard and me discussing the relationship between his Simulacra and Plato’s Cave analogy. The entire chat runs locally, driven by the latest 7-billion parameter LLM called „Intel/neural-chat-7b-v3-2“ (link removed for blog formatting). The front end is a Gradio interface which runs „Oobabooga“ on my Windows machine.

Why I post this here on a business platform?

  • Inspire Experimentation: I want to inspire all those who follow me to just go at it and start experimenting and doing on your own. If I can do this, you can do it, too. There are also other interfaces for various operating systems out now which you could use instead of „Oobabooga“.

  • Sneak Peek into the Future: I want to give you a sneak peek into a very near future by showing you actual hands-on examples of what is already possible today. With the current exponential developments, I am pretty certain we will all have the option to train our personal intelligent bot on our mobile devices within 6 months from now. By that time, all hell will break loose as people from all over the place will pitch their autonomous agents to do whatever people have in mind. Bottom line: you better prepare your business today than picking up the broken pieces in a year from now.

  • Transforming Knowledge Work: I want to show you how this new epoch of AI will change teaching, learning, and how we work with knowledge. Just think of the impact this will have if I can already now talk to an (admittedly watered-down) version of Baudrillard. What would you do with your personal scientist on your computer?
