Navigating AI Trends in Service

I recently had the pleasure of addressing the enthusiastic crowd at this year’s closing event for Deutsche Telekom Service careers. I guided the audience through a comprehensive virtual obstacle course, exploring the latest local and global developments in generative AI trends, always with a keen eye on evolving service trends.

Our journey spanned the spectrum of AI capabilities: from the foundational concepts of simple voice bots (like Moshi) to the elegant behavior of advanced AI voice models (such as OpenAI’s latest offerings), and from basic AI Outbound Voice bots to highly sophisticated embodied AI exemplified by Figure01 or 1XNeo.

To enhance the experience, I was honored to once again collaborate with Sindy Leffler-Krebs, who expertly transitioned everyone from a listening mode into an active „doing“ mode. As the audience formed smaller groups, we observed their initial interactions with generative AI. Even seasoned participants found value, learning from the insightful questions posed by newcomers and drawing inspiration from our discussions.

Getting everyone on board with AI is crucial, but it requires a thoughtful, playful, and sensible approach rather than coercion. As Sindy frequently emphasizes:

This is a learning-journey for all of us.

A huge THANK YOU! goes out to the dedicated organizers, tech staff, and hosts of the event: Jana Rodionov, Viola Jackson, Claudia Hahn, Martina Meliß, and Laura Voth. It was also a pleasure to briefly reconnect with Marco Holzwarth, following a talk I delivered for his unit earlier this year.
