Factually, Palantir Technologies‘ CEO Karp may be right in his point of view regarding other countries and organizations developing AI solutions. What I do not approve of is his rather aggressive rhetoric. Knowing his business, this approach borders on fear-mongering, seemingly with the only goal to stir FOMO and thus propel his economic ambitions, often dropping war terminology just to make his point.
Mixing civil and military topics in one breath reeks of dual-use technology, a subject I have written about here a couple of months ago. In a world-scenario like his, which (let’s say it as it is) would be heading towards AI warfare:
There will be no winners once the dust settles.
