If there is still a need to prove that altruism beats even the most brutal and cold algorithm (no offence LinkedIn!) it is this post below by Jesus Serrano.
And I am not saying this because he even mentioned my vanity-struck self on this lovely Valentine’s list. No, I think it just shows:
- how giving back to the community pays off,
- how purpose-driven communities can really thrive if their constituents are truly supportive of each other and of course, and let’s be real here for a second, it
- shows that smartly placed seasonal posts can make a difference.
Jesus knows his numbers and has a keen eye on metrics. But the great thing about him is that he shares these insights – for free – for anyone interested. It’s that special mix that I would love to see more of here on this network.
So, yes, I am being honest here:
I really wish more of us here on LinkedIn would follow Jesus‘ example and spread more love instead of just showing off, virtue signaling or rage baiting others for personal gain, stats, numbers, mentions and money. We should use this platform to unite us in our benevolent passions, to progress as one (and this doesn’t mean we always have to agree on each and everything!) and to show that to diversify into a multi-interested, colorful community is the best recipe for success.
And isn’t business not all about being successful?
