Manus AI, a new autonomous AI agent from China, has been attracting a lot of attention since its launch in early March 2025. Developed by startup Monica, Manus can work independently after users have defined their task – the computer can be switched off while the AI continues to work.
But despite all the enthusiasm, one key question remains: how far should the autonomy of AI systems go? We are at a point where AI systems can already act largely autonomously, but the question of responsibility is still far from being resolved.
