Retail Reimagined: AI & Connection

Yesterday, I had the chance to reconnect with some incredible minds and ex-colleagues at the Publicis Sapient office in Cologne (my former home turf) to chat about „Retail Experience Reimagined„. Each session perfectly captured a different aspect of the future of retail innovation. But it was more than just a gathering; it was a great chance to reconnect with an electric exchange of ideas and the typical „Sapient“ energy I still remember from the old days.

Speakers took the audience on a journey:

  • From AI-fueled rapid prototyping at OBI, where smart retail is no longer a vision but a reality.
  • To Sephora’s relentless client obsession and design-driven culture that turns loyalty into ROI.
  • As for me, I shared how AI is not just a tech upgrade but ushers in a deep transformation of teams, tools, and mindsets. As proof, I demonstrated our very own “AI-Pioneers” and how they started out to push „AI-Enablement at Deutsche Telekom“.

And even though I was quite in a hurry afterwards, I really appreciated the post-event networking over great snacks and drinks, making sure connections went beyond the stage.

A big shout-out to everyone who made this happen: Andreas Peters and Manuela Hess, all the great speakers, guests, and the amazing team behind the scenes. Let’s keep pushing the boundaries and reimagining retail together!
