Sometimes, a platform just gets it right for creators. I’ve been exploring Audius – not for the crypto buzz, but because it lets me upload as many albums as I want, without artificial limits or paywalls. Talking about „artificial“…the music platform is heavily invested in experimenting with AI features:
- Focus on transparent collaboration: Mark uploaded tracks as AI-generated and attribute them to artists whose musical styles inspired the creation, fostering transparency and recognition in the AI music space.
- Artist Opt-In for AI Inspiration: You can choose to opt in via settings, permitting your musical style to be used as inspiration for AI-generated tracks; only opted-in artists can be credited in AI attributions.
- Rights Protection and Metadata Tracking: The platform ensures that only artists who have given consent can be linked to AI-generated works, with clear metadata and attribution, helping protect artists’ rights and maintain transparency.
- Community and Collaboration Focus: With attribution and opt-in controls, Audius encourages a collaborative environment for artists and fans. This way you can explore the creative possibilities of AI music while respecting creators’ preferences and contributions.
- API for AI Integrations: This is a very special thing –> While Audius itself does not train AI models on user music, its API will allow developers to build integrations that use opted-in artists‘ styles for AI music generation, expanding creative tools for the community. Not realized yet but on their roadmap.
The focus on AI and on empowering creators to make their music accessible is what keeps me coming back. If you’re looking for a place to share your music with almost zero boundaries, Audius is worth a look. Oh, and of course if this is your thing, you can also commercially use your music. Sure.
