Embrace the Mess: Find Connection

The title of one of my favorite YouTubers is something I think is worth pondering as we go out of this year, especially as doomsday evangelists smell the dawn of a new day. Constant wars, atomic fear mongering, inflation, personal safety, and now seemingly even alien ships above sensible infrastructures worldwide (IF you believe some people on „X“ that is).

So, yes, life has never been easy, and there are tons of curveballs being thrown at us at any given moment. I think it’s all about acceptance of the things we cannot change. Call it „Stoicism,“ „Daoism,“ or whatever. For me personally, it’s a matter of humbleness and knowing where we belong, of finding our place while still being able to change plans and leave everything behind if necessary. It’s about not getting attached and finding something that cannot be taken away because it goes with you wherever you might happen to be in this universe.

There is an episode in the cult series „LOST“ in which a man finds out that a scientific „constant“ he needs to find was nothing he could ever hope of finding in a book or research paper. Instead, the constant that helped him come home was in the form of another human being.

I wish for all of you to see and care about those around you, always, not just in this special time around Christmas. Find your constant that enlightens your way out of this cave in which life may throw you at times.
