So with Apple, Meta or OpenAI waiting to deploy their AI in Europe, I was wondering: why are the EU and US reacting so differently to AI, what does this say about innovation culture and the will to take risks in each, and what’s the end game for this trajectory?
How I Created the Video:
I started creating personas for each side of the Atlantic using ChatGPT-4o. One persona was Josh, representing the US point of view, the other was Kathrin as a stand-in for the European perspective on AI. After creating their profiles, I prompted ChatGPT to create a fictional podcast between the two, discussing the subject matter and representing their side of the story.
At the same time, I introduced new concepts into the conversation and delicately observed and steered their conversation step by step. After a successful „debate,“ I copied and pasted the entire podcast transcript into NotebookLM to generate a „real“ podcast from the script. This is where things became interesting.
Because my two AI hosts didn’t pick up on becoming the two podcast hosts immediately. They actually started a meta-discussion of the different points of view regarding how to approach AI innovation. Only towards the end of their deep dive did they include the two other virtual podcast hosts, Josh and Kathrin, from my generated ChatGPT podcast.
Eventually, I used my local Flux dev install to create a podcast photo, fine-tuned the magenta colors with our very own „Magenta Color Fix,“ and finished off the video with Veed to include the audio waveform you can see animated when played.
Lessons Learned:
- Creating content with AI is not done with the snap of a finger; it takes time and dedication. Also: double-check results, always!
- Using the persona method and podcast implementation, I can enable myself to quickly get accustomed to any topic that I am interested in — a mental shortcut into understanding.
- Working with AI is a totally different „beast.“ We will have to get accustomed to work way more creatively than we might be used to, creating connections of topics formerly unimaginable.
- It helps to know about different concepts that deal with brainstorming, ideation, conceptual thinking, and methods.
- Knowing methods/concepts is a huge plus when working with AI. Because these systems KNOW all of them! You just have to mention them, and they click into action like an extension or plugin in legacy apps and tools. Difference here is: just like a magic spell, you just have to mention the name of the concept to invoke it into existence for your prompt.
