Time travel like in „Back to the Future“ won’t be happening anytime soon. Nevertheless, in today’s newsletter, I’m taking a little journey into my own past. Specifically, to the year 1996: when the Internet was still in its „infancy“!
While digitally decluttering, I actually found a kind of time capsule containing my thoughts about the Internet from the aforementioned year. Now that I’ve unearthed it anyway, I might as well reflect on it in my latest newsletter.
What was inside? The perhaps still somewhat naive dreams of a 22-year-old, utopian visions of a networked world, and plenty of „what ifs“ and „could haves“. And somehow, you can replace the word Internet with (gen)AI here and there, and you can see how history is now repeating itself.
Well, some of my ideas were surprisingly insightful back then, others… let’s say, charmingly unworldly.
Curious about how my digital prophecies have developed? Interested in learning a bit more about the person behind the newsletter?
Then feel free to read on! Fasten your seatbelts!
