From Childhood Dreams to the AI Revolution! 🚀
About 40 years ago, inspired by a kids‘ radio play „Robbi, Tobbi und das Fliewatüt,“ I promised my mom a robot. I was young, a dreamer, hungry for these kinds of adventures and was looking for inventive ideas all over the place. Fast forward to today, the robot is yet to be built (sorry mom!), but oh, the journey we’ve embarked on is nothing short of magical! ✨
For a little more than a year now, I dove head-first into the mesmerizing world of AI, where text turns into stunning images with the prowess of OpenAI’s Dalle2 and Automatic1111 as a starter. I’ve witnessed firsthand the power of a global community united by innovation and a shared vision, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. From creating unique digital assets for Deutsche Telekom’s Roblox experience in my daytime job to training personalized AI models at night instead of watching Netflix, every step was a new realization of the sheer potential of what’s yet to come.
With the emergence of AI chatbot Web UIs like Oobabooga and the ongoing advancements in multimodal AI, we’re not just witnessing a technological revolution in the cloud and on every personal device; looking at the open source nature of most of the projects, we are all potentially an active part of it! And that’s a chance we should all pick up and run with! As we teeter on the edge of 2024, I’m immersed in a world where AI isn’t just a tool but might just as well become a companion, echoing that childhood dream of inventive partnership between a tiny robot and a child inventor as in „Robbi & Tobbi“. 🤖💫
So here I am, not with a robot but with the untethered potential of AI, still honoring that 40-year-old promise to my mom. In a world where the lines between reality and artificial generation start to blur, where innovation is as rampant as any youthful imagination can possibly be, the adventure is far from over – it may even have just started.
