September 14th, 2023, marked a historic day for us here at Deutsche Telekom. At 1 pm, we proudly launched the very first „Deutsche Telekom Generative AI Promptathon.“ This unique designation draws inspiration from „Prompts“ – the human touchpoints we provide to Generative AIs – fused with the tenacity reminiscent of a marathon.
We were thrilled to welcome participants from all walks of life: from newbies to veterans in the GenAI space, from career starters to seasoned colleagues, women, men, and individuals from Bonn, Germany, and even all the way from India.
They were all there for one purpose only:
Plunging head-first into the challenge of artfully guiding AI and leveraging its responses to address specific business challenges.
Our colleagues from units across the company set forth 22 distinct challenges to tackle their specific needs and pain points. These included, among others:
- Crafting Telekom-centric visuals, key imagery, and even comics explaining Fibre.
- Designing a comprehensive team communication strategy.
- Conceptualizing a digital education blueprint.
- Sculpting the blueprint for an exemplary Townhall gathering.
A huge shout-out to an amazing team! The event was run perfectly by Sindy Leffler-Krebs, who I admire for her resilience – you did a tremendous job and clearly deserved your weekend! Julia Büchel masterfully guided us through the entire event with her steady mix of timely information and unbeatable nonchalance as the host. Elke Anderl and Claudia Nemat elevated the event with their presence and inspiring words. And also kudos to my partner in crime, André Cramer, with whom I gave a quick impulse session about GenAI prompting just before our guests began their sessions. And there were so many more contributors!
Special thanks to Stefan Kohn, Tobias Trautmann, Maike Scholz, Christian Weßeling, Jan Hofmann, Anaïs Fabinger, Yvonne Sitte, and Leonard Dahmen. With Leonard, I had the honor of doing a post-Promptathon chat for his podcast series „ExplAIned – Human Views on AI,“ which you can find here: https://lnkd.in/e_h3kUXn (talk in German).
