AI Art: One Year’s Leap

AI art and generative content in general have come a long way since last year. It was almost exactly a year ago that I started experimenting with some (at the time) crazy, nerdy Google Colabs that were said to create computer generated images based off of an image I uploaded.

Choosing a base image to create variations, I created a whole series (also published them as NFTs, of course, because, yeah, it was that time of the year) of my infamous „Old Space Men“.

Now, a year later, these space men got a make-over, bringing them into 2023 using my own AI recipe consisting of numerous Checkpoint models, self-trained embeddings, and a well-balanced diet of CFG scores and sampler iterations.

The result clearly visualizes the leaps generative content has done within this single year. The contrast between an image from March 2022 and today’s version demonstrates this evolution, with the latter basically extrapolating from the former using Automatic.

This is why I am always saying that this is exponential. Wild just thinking about how 2024 will play out…
