After the crypto boom, it seems the Metaverse is the new frontier for criticism. Is it for valid reasons? Perhaps it’s due to generational differences in perception, biased mainstream media reporting, or even key stakeholders initially looking for the Metaverse in all the wrong places.
For me, the closest experience to a truly living, breathing Metaverse has been in the world with the most bustling, vibrant community I’ve ever encountered: VRChat. (My apologies to the incredible „No Man’s Sky“ community, which is also exceptional.)
I couldn’t express it better than Phia of YouTube’s „Virtual Reality Show“ when considering what VRChat truly is and what truly separates this virtual world and its passionate citizens from others, such as Decentraland, Horizon Worlds, and Cryptovoxels.
