We (still) live in times of peace, even if the (subjectively felt) constant bombardment of negativity may try to convince us of a different reality.
Looking at the numbers seems mind-boggling, but it also reminds us of our responsibility towards those who will come after us and our respect for those who survived humanity’s darkest times so far.
On a personal note:
I just wonder why highly developed technology like biotechnology (CRISPR, etc.), information technology, AI, and Big Data should be given into the hands of despots and people who just like to see the world burn.
I would love to see technology in the hands of those who just love to see the world learn.
